The Ghana U-20 women’s team, the Black Princesses, have qualified for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after beating Uganda 3-2 on aggregate.
Although the match in Kampala ended 1-1, Ghana moved on thanks to their 2-1 win in Accra. This marks their eighth straight time at the World Cup.
Uganda started strong, scoring in the 7th minute with Sylvia Kabene’s deflected shot.
Ghana fought back and tied the game before halftime with a free kick by captain Linda Owusu.
Ghana played the last 20 minutes with ten players after defender Margaret Agyapomaa was sent off for a foul on Peace Muduwa.
Despite Uganda’s strong finish, Ghana held on to the draw and secured their spot at the World Cup.
The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will take place in Poland from September 5 to 23.
